Clinical Practice

I have experience working across the lifespan with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults in a variety of NHS settings. My work involves psychological assessment, formulation, and the delivery of evidence-based interventions.

I provide psychological treatment for a range of difficulties, including:

  • Depression and low mood
  • Generalised anxiety and excessive worry
  • Health anxiety
  • Panic attacks
  • Social anxiety
  • Low self-esteem
  • Specific phobias
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Behavioural difficulties
  • Life transitions and adjustment difficulties
  • Trauma-related difficulties including PTSD and Complex PTSD
  • Grief and bereavement
  • Stress and burnout

My aim is to help people make sense of their experiences and build the tools they need to move toward meaningful and lasting change. I work in a compassionate, collaborative, and person-centred way, offering a safe and supportive space where people feel heard, understood, and empowered.

In addition to my clinical practice, I am involved in a large-scale research trial where I supervise both clinical and research staff delivering psychological interventions. Being involved in trials allows me to stay closely connected to the latest developments in psychological research and integrate new knowledge into my clinical work.

Therapeutic Approach

In the early sessions, my focus will be on getting to know you – what’s brought you to therapy, and what you’re hoping to gain from it. Together, we’ll explore the difficulties you’re facing, how they may have developed, and what might be maintaining them. From this shared understanding, we’ll identify your goals and shape a therapy plan that feels right for you.

My practice is primarily grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which has a strong evidence base for many common mental health difficulties. CBT can help you understand the links between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and support you in breaking unhelpful patterns and developing more helpful ways of coping.

That said, therapy is never one-size-fits-all. I work flexibly and holistically, drawing on a range of evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and systemic models. My approach is always guided by a collaborative, formulation-driven understanding of your individual needs.

I also bring a culturally sensitive perspective to my work, having supported people from diverse backgrounds, including communities where mental health is often stigmatised. My background helps me understand how cultural narratives – such as family expectations, community pressures, or fear of judgement – can influence how people experience and express distress. I use this awareness to adapt therapy in ways that are respectful, accessible, and relevant, helping you care for your emotional wellbeing while staying connected to the values and identity that matter to you.
