Dr Yvonne McNeill has over 9 years experience of assessing, writing reports and treating the psychological sequelae of critical incidents such as road traffic accidents, injury at work, assault, heart attack, traumatic birth, medical diagnosis, major burns, to name a few.
Dr McNeill has worked at CrossHouse Hospital Medical Paediatrics unit, Yorkhill Children’s Hospital, Maternity and Neonatal Services, Canniesburn Plastic Surgery & Burns Unit and currently at Glasgow Liaison Psychiatry Service providing Clinical Psychology to all medical specialities at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Stobhill Hospital. Only with many years experience of working with the medical profession, does a Clinical Psychologist gain a comprehensive understanding of the terminology use, and the medical treatments offered by all professionals involved in treatment and rehabilitation, e.g. surgeons, clinical nurse specialists, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, prosthetics etc.
From a wealth of experience in adult and children medical services, Dr McNeill has gained expertise in reviewing medical and surgical notes and understanding not only the impact of an incident but the psychological impact of the medical treatment involved.
Dr Yvonne McNeill is therefore one of the most experienced Clinical Psychologists in Scotland with respect to assessing psychological injury for legal purposes.
